A Message of Love

My name is Matthew. For five and a half years I struggled with a unidentifiable, supposedly "chronic" illness before I finally made peace with it and began to heal. I am now well on my way to great health. Where once I had no energy for anything, now I work out several times a week. Where before I had horrible anxiety and panic attacks, I'm now centered and happy more often than not. With this blog I share my experiences from this journey, all of which should help you on your own healing path. I provide information about spiritual/emotional aspects of healing as well as physical ones, sometimes even posting inspiring poetry, essays, or links to helpful sites.

If you have experiences of your own that you would like to share, I welcome you to send them to me so that I can possibly post them if I feel they can be of use to other people.

Feel free to share these posts anywhere you feel like doing so. Post them on Facebook, email them, print them out, or whatever. It is my hope that together we can build a site that not only helps people, but also enriches and brings joy to our lives.

If you would like to support this effort, please consider making a donation through PayPal to: artful_dodger_47 (an official PayPal account is in the works). Don't forget to add yourself in the "Follow by Email" space!

One final note: feel free to contact me, if you would like, at beautytheory@gmail.com. I am available to do individual healing and coaching work. Hablo español, también.

The Wonders of Raw Honey

I always knew raw honey was awesome -- not just delicious, but extremely healthy.  But this article shares a lot of information most of us don't know about it.  Different types of honey, what NOT to do with it, different ways it can benefit your body, and so forth.  Useful stuff, if you love honey like I do!

Read the article here.

One last word on this:  I don't believe in doing things to ward off illness or health problems, because that puts you in a resistant relationship with that thing -- in other words, it actually strengthens the likelihood that it'll show up in your life simply because you're resistantly entangled with it.  However, if you're doing something because you already enjoy it and it just happens to be healthy. . . now that's perfect!

Enjoy!

Love and Light,

Matthew

Gun vs. Pharmaceutical Violence

This is an interesting mini-documentary that questions the logic of our government's fight to control guns at the same time that they fail to do with a much bigger public safety threat:  the pharmaceutical industry.  106,000 people die each year from FDA-approved prescription drugs.  An estimated nearly 784,000 die each year at the hands of the allopathic medical establishment.

Hell, drugs companies are actually BRIBING doctors to prescribe more of their drugs!

What does this mean?  It means you're far more likely to be killed by your doctor than by a James Holmes or a Jared Loughner, and that you should question these so-called authorities like the news media and (cough) your doctors.

While I'm not going to speak on the merits of gun control or whether doctors might have a role in mass shootings like Columbine (as the video suggests) -- these are just too big of topics, and I'm not interested in getting them on a health blog -- I would encourage you to watch this 5.5-minute video and decide for yourself.

The final point the video makes is that it's time for us to start instituting "doctor control" to protect people from the harms of overly prescribing prescription drugs.  What do you think?

That all said, there's a place for pharmaceutical drugs, albeit a much smaller space than what your doctor would have you believe.  So be informed, and then make conscious decisions for your own life.
