A Message of Love

My name is Matthew. For five and a half years I struggled with a unidentifiable, supposedly "chronic" illness before I finally made peace with it and began to heal. I am now well on my way to great health. Where once I had no energy for anything, now I work out several times a week. Where before I had horrible anxiety and panic attacks, I'm now centered and happy more often than not. With this blog I share my experiences from this journey, all of which should help you on your own healing path. I provide information about spiritual/emotional aspects of healing as well as physical ones, sometimes even posting inspiring poetry, essays, or links to helpful sites.

If you have experiences of your own that you would like to share, I welcome you to send them to me so that I can possibly post them if I feel they can be of use to other people.

Feel free to share these posts anywhere you feel like doing so. Post them on Facebook, email them, print them out, or whatever. It is my hope that together we can build a site that not only helps people, but also enriches and brings joy to our lives.

If you would like to support this effort, please consider making a donation through PayPal to: artful_dodger_47 (an official PayPal account is in the works). Don't forget to add yourself in the "Follow by Email" space!

One final note: feel free to contact me, if you would like, at beautytheory@gmail.com. I am available to do individual healing and coaching work. Hablo español, también.

Vaccines: A Hazardous Money-Game

If you've seen a good naturopath or chiropractor, you probably already have heard that vaccines are rarely safe to use, and in most cases are, in fact, downright dangerous.

First, vaccines rarely actually prevent diseases. Consider a factoid from an article linked from mercola.com: if 100 people are vaccinated for the flu, the disease is prevented in about ZERO to FOUR of those people. That's a pretty low success rate for a drug that's so heavily pushed by the medical community.

The ingredient list in one of the more commonly issued vaccines -- the one for influenza -- contains items that would make the grim reaper nervous: mercury, formaldehyde (a chemical used in embalming dead bodies), gelatin (made from the crushed-up skin, bones, and tendons of animals), rotting eggs, and even some chemicals known to kill sperm and contribute to infertility.

Many people don't realize how utterly horrendous the vaccines can actually be for your body. In addition to sometimes causing the disease they're supposed to prevent (think "flu vaccine"), they can cause major health complications for years to come. (In fact, many of my health issues that I've suffered all my life can be directly or indirectly attributed to vaccinations.)

Despite all the evidence that has exposed vaccinations to be ineffective and often very harmful, they keep being pushed on us because of the money drug companies are making on them. And the government agencies that are telling us they're safe? They're led by people with direct ties to the pharmaceutical industry. Somehow, though, this not-so-minor conflict-of-interest gets swept under the rug. Convenient, huh?

This is all to say, if you're considering getting a flu vaccine this year (or vaccinating your children, for that matter), I'd think twice.

P.S. - Click here for to read some interesting trivia about vaccines! For example, did you know that in 1977, it was revealed that as many as 26% of children who received the rubella vaccine developed arthritis?

What the Hell Is Methylcellulose?

Eating a healthy diet is widely known to be one of the most essential elements for maintaining good mental and physical health. Too often, though, it's hard to know what's healthy anymore. NPR's food blog, "The Salt," provides us with insight into a few of those strange-sounding ingredient names like "methylcellulose" and "gelatin" (the second one probably isn't made of what you think it is). While most of the ingredients on this list aren't particularly bad for you -- in fact, a couple are perfectly natural -- it's good to keep yourself informed.
